Book Launch: Beatrice MacNeil
The Box of the Dead centers on Ivadoile, a widow who runs a Cape Breton boarding house in a home left to her by her doctor husband. As she approaches old age, Ivadoile muses over the turns her life has taken, the sea-voyaging characters who have stayed with her between trips. Author Beatrice MacNeil explores the thorns and roses that can be found in a long life and once more gives voice to the people of Cape Breton island.
