Cape Breton Island is home to some of Canada’s most popular musicians, and the inspiration for some of the country’s best writers. The island that has captured the imaginations of countless artists is one of the most beautiful, wild places in Canada. Cape Breton is an internationally acclaimed tourist destination, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year.

Whether someone is a serious hiker, planning a multi-day excursion into the wild Cape Breton Highlands National Park, or a family looking for an interesting way to spend an afternoon, this new edition of Hiking Trails of Cape Breton will provide all the information needed to enjoy an exciting and entertaining, out-of-doors experience.

Revised for the first time in more than ten years, Hiking Trails of Cape Breton profiles 40 routes on Cape Breton Island, ranging from its very northern tip at Money Point all the way to the Ghost Beach Trail, which begins as soon as you cross the Canso Causeway. GPS coordinates to the trailheads are provided for each path, greatly facilitating finding those less-well-known routes, and cellphone coverage on each trail, so important for safety, is mentioned. Detailed maps for each path are provided, making the book both useful to read and valuable to carry along the trail.
