My Goat Gertrude Book Signing with Starr Dobson
In My Goat Gertrude, Starr Dobson is a little girl living in a big, rambling house in the country with her family and lots of pets—including a mischievous goat, Gertrude Allawishes, who is notorious for eating anything and everything. One day Starr’s cousin Leanne comes to visit. Leanne is Starr’s opposite in a lot of ways, but one thing they have in common is a love of Wig Wag chocolate bars. This visit, though, Leanne has only brought one and won’t share with Starr. Starr chases Leanne around the yard, but Leanne taunts her and is about to start eating the chocolate in front of her—when in swoops Gertrude and her special gastric talents to save the day.
Although some names have been changed to protect certain cousins (who, to be fair, usually shared their chocolate very nicely), Starr’s account of Gertrude Allawishes and her bizarre tastes is absolutely true.
